Altair Charts not adapting to dark background

I feel like this should just happen automatically, but if I try to go dark mode, my altair charts all get wonky. I expected I would get a dark background in my chart by default and my text would change to white.

Can you file a GitHub issue if it’s not too much trouble?
thanks for opening this issue, I was just thinking about it today
somehow i can't reproduce this. but there's two of you facing this problem, and only one of me unable to repro ...
so interesting... I went to open a notebook to send you a screenshot but now I can't reproduce it either
my version of altair is the same too (5.4.1). can you post the code to reproduce this nellyg?
so fancy, you and your multiple columns!! 🙂
I keep getting it in some notebooks, but simple examples won't reproduce it. Same environment... I am working on it!
Gotta ask about the column layouts, how did you do it 😅
@Haleshot something new we’re working on, feel free to test it out in the ws/2d-cells branch 😉
I’m with you, I swear I’ve noticed it before lol
is it possible you’re using a browser dark mode extension instead of the marimo dark mode?
My system settings are dark mode, but I am explicitly going and clicking Marimo settings and switching from light to dark mode
you might need to restart your kernel
Cool! Have been wanting to explore the custom viewer (where we drop the panels/cell blocks onto the board ourselves) for a while now... this seems like a great alternative/feature.
or even server?
